During these events, different sections of the store may be included, so it’s important to always check the details. These sales are how stores clear out inventory they no longer need, including seasonal items and products already marked down with those orange clearance stickers.

- ✅Feb 27 – Mar 1, 2026 — follows the late-Feb/early-March trend
Spring Core & Seasonal
NOW HERE IS WHERE IT GETS TRICKY! We originally said May 15-May 21 back in Oct 2025, well DG wanted to keep us on our toes and announced a clearance event to happen on April 16-April 18, 2026, RED FLAGS immediately went up for me., WHY? Well to begin with the dates, when have we had a clearance event start on a Thursday? The dates were also announced on a reginal conference call with some of the big wigs, which lets face it, this normally comes out about a month a head of time. so #CLEARANCEGATE had begun. I made several videos discussing how this just seemed off to me and BAM Monday April 13, 2026 it was announced the clearance event was cancelled. I should just always stick with my gut feeling. THEN the next event was announced that would be two weeks before our predicted date of May 15 with the email stating that May 01-May 07 would be the event date that would be replacing the date the tentative date of May 15.
Summer Core & Seasonal
- June 12 – June 18, 2026 — second week of June is very consistent
Late Summer Core & Seasonal
- July 31 – Aug 2, 2026 — first weekend of August
- Aug 28 – Aug 31, 2026 — Labor Day weekend clearance
Fall / Seasonal
- Sept 18 – Sept 20, 2026 — seasonal-only fall clearance
- Oct 2 – Oct 8, 2026 — early-October week-long clearance
- Oct 16 – Oct 18, 2026 — a shorter October weekend event
Holiday / Core
- Nov 13 – Nov 19, 2026 — mid-November Core event before holiday resets
Why These Dates Make Sense
- Late Feb / Early Mar: Consistent every year from 2020–2025.
- Mid-May: Big, multi-day clearance reliably lands mid-May.
- Mid-June: Historically the second week.
- Early August: First weekend is a lock; another round lands Labor Day.
- Mid-September: Seasonal-only aligns with back-to-school/fall resets.
- October: Usually 2 events (one week-long + one short).
- November: Long Core event in mid-November ahead of Black Friday.
- Scan everything with the DG app to confirm clearance pricing at your selected store.
- Clip DG digital coupons and watch for $5/$25 Saturdays.
- Stack savings (clearance markdowns + store promos; manufacturer coupons where permitted).
- Shop early for best selection—Day 1 morning is prime.
